Tuesday's Tip: Facebook Page vs a Group for your Business

When businesses begin to consider the use of social media to market their brand, Facebook is generally the first platform they sign up for.  Facebook is a great way to connect with consumers, share messages and strengthen any brand.  However, simply being on Facebook isn’t enough.  Choosing the right platform within Facebook is crucial and serious consideration must be given before making any final decisions.

At RealTime Marketing Group we highly recommend using Facebook Pages over Groups. Pages offer numerous tools not available to Groups. Analytics for Pages tells you all about monthly active users, daily new likes and total likers.  In fact, Pages analytics can give you an enormous amount of information about those who interact with your page including, what percent of your demographic is male, female, what age they are, where they live and what languages they speak. On top of all that you can monitor how your likers act on your page, the number of videos they watch, audio plays they listen to and the number of photos they view.  In addition to analytics Facebook Pages allows you to send updates to all those who Like your brand. With Groups your messages are sent to individuals Facebook In-boxes and many people complain that they do not enjoy receiving messages from businesses at their inbox.

If you’ve created a Group consider checking out Facebook Pages.  And, if you haven’t created any presence on Facebook make sure to think hard before selecting Groups over Pages.
