With Mother’s Day sneaking up on us all it can be easy to let plans slip by or rush deliver a bouquet of flowers at the last minute. This year it’s about making every Mom feel special on this day devoted to her. Social media thankfully has our back when it comes to spreading the love and reminding us to make our Mom shine. Hopefully, Sunday won’t creep up on you, and with a little help from Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube you’ll be able to really show how much you love your Mom.
Teleflora
What is Mother’s Day without roses, lilies, or hydrangeas? Teleflora took the extra step with their Magnificent Mom Sweepstakes. Here anyone can enter to win an iPad 2, mother-daughter day at the spa, an entire summer of bouquets from Teleflora, or a poster singed by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. This is further incentive for fans to engage in their brand and create the perfect day.
Macy’s
There is rarely enough time for any of us to walk through rows of cards in the hopes the perfect one will magically land in our hands. Macy’s has taken the initiative to help their Facebook fans create a memorable Mother’s Day card. Not only are fans able to create a personal card, they are able to select which charity will receive a donation from Macy’s. It’s a completely personal experience, and one with a cause. Fans will walk away from the process feeling they have made a difference in their mom’s life and someone else’s.
Procter & Gamble
This umbrella company P&G carries brands such as Bounty, Tide, and Charmin. In honor of Mother’s Day this year, they have teamed up with the Special Olympics and hit YouTube with their “Thank You Mom” series. Their inspirational videos tell the stories of various families who have overcome obstacles. Each short segment shows how these mothers never gave up believing their families could succeed. Definitely leaves viewers with the warm and fuzzies.
Modern Mom
Who has tackled Twitter full force this Mother’s Day? Modern Mom manages to do this just about every day through their mommy-fied tweets. With their highly successful website and magazine Twitter makes for a natural transition. However, with the holiday nearing, they have dived into everything from the perfect recipes for dad to conquer to what gifts must be avoided this year. This is not just a Twitter for moms to follow; but one dad should definitely click the Follow button for in order to stay up to date in the latest parenting tips, or even learn how to up the wow factor as a dad.
Modern Family
A show centered on the modern American family is a perfect fit for Mother’s Day campaigns. ABC not only devoted an entire episode to the celebration of the show’s moms (and one uber nurturing dad) on Mother’s Day, but carried it over to their Facebook as well. Here fans are able to choose which character is most like their mom, choose a design, write a special note and share it either on their Facebook account or Email. Is your mom a Claire, Cam, or Gloria?
