It’s Thursday, energy is low, and all anyone can think about are plans for the weekend. Fact of the matter is, Thursdays are rough. Cue the trumpet sounds- social media is here to banish that low energy creeping its way into the day.
Music always manages to act as an espresso shot in our office. Or as a point of conflict… but that is beside the point. It may be hard to agree on a genre, but once that is accomplished, blasting some music will boost creativity and morale. Pandora is usually playing throughout our office. Closing Time radio is a popular Chris choice, almost too popular, but it definitely satisfies his need to perpetually live in the 1990’s. Tumblr is also a great place to find new music. A personal favorite is Copy Cats, a blog devoted to covers of classic favorites, even new hits.
Laughter keeps our office moving on a daily basis. We are basically Monsters Inc. minus the monsters, and the version at the end of the film, where laughter runs the city, not screams. You get the idea. YouTube can provide plenty of laughs, whether it’s a wacky Lady Gaga music video, or the latest Digital Short. YouTube and Hulu are great places to find a few laughs and make Thursday a little better.
Caffeine. Enough said. Lucky for us, our office is located right across the street from a Starbucks. Recently, our prayers were answered when payment could be processed right through our SmartPhones. Now on coffee runs, all we have to bring is our phone, which is then scanned, and magically a Venti Pike’s Roast with non-fat milk and two sugars appears in our hands. Yes, other than Angry Birds, this is the best app ever.
How do you boost morale?
