This morning three members from our tight-knit RealTime team: Terra Spero, Chris Cuccia, and I, Jenny Preston, along with David Massey of Vision Haus and Ron Stack from Zavee, gave a presentation on Social Media at The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Tech Talk. Facebook, Twitter, SEO, YouTube, and Blogging were all covered in short 10 minute bursts as rotations were made between various groups of businesses. It was a whirlwind of information often leaving us rapidly summersaulting over our words and answering a wide range of questions.
Chris and I looked at each other breathless at the end of our hour and twenty minute rotation. We were exhausted and rushed toward the coffee. Questions continued as attendees mingled, and it became clear how many businesses and individuals are completely intrigued by the world of social media, and all it has to offer. Everyone from a historic Bed and Breakfast owner, to an avid blogger were looking to successfully unfold the various features available on these expanding platforms.
Of course I’m immersed in this industry every day, but it never fails to amaze me how helpful our information can be, and how many questions we are able to answer. After some strenuous and in depth analysis of this morning’s activities, here is my masterfully constructed random thought for this Thursday. When in doubt search Google. It is impossible to learn all you need to know about Social Media in ten minutes, but you can scratch the surface. Blogs are bursting at the seams with helpful information for those of us attempting to master the multiple social platforms; heck even Facebook has a Help section. Get out there, start searching, reading, and clicking until you find the perfect strategies to tinker with in Social Media.
