With Earth Day right around the corner Facebook and Twitter have been all a…twitter. Companies and public figures have taken the initiative to raise hype and cultivate knowledge surrounding the care of our Earth. Many remain skeptics on the importance of growing organically, global warming, and sustainability. However, lately it has become increasingly difficult to ignore the staggering statistics, and noticeable damage. Eco-friendly living, organic farming, conservation and sustainability have all headed to the Internet with a strong message, voice, and call to action. Here are the Top Five Campaigns and who to follow when it comes to doing a part to maintain a healthy world.

Stoneyfield Farm– If you’ve seen Food Inc. then you know how awesome, yes awesome, this dairy farm is. The grassy fields of roaming cows depicted on their yogurt containers is exactly what happens within their fences. The founder, Gary Hirshberg, has never faltered or compromised his organic promise, and you can see it on their Facebook page. Whether it’s exclaiming “Just Eat Organic!” to be added into a Stoneyfield Remix, sharing the creative ways you reuse their containers, or making a Farmer’s Wish come true, they have it figured out. Try leaving their Facebook page without a new found determination to support organic farming.
Again we fall to the problem-solving motto that is “What would Disney do?” Over the past couple of years, Disney has taken up the environmental challenge. This Earth Day Disneynature is releasing African Cats. Before it hits theaters, the adventure starts on their Facebook. The “Save The Savanna” landing page allows you to view the trailer, make a pledge, and see which National Parks are being conserved. Upon buying your ticket, to see African Cats within the first week a $0.20 will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation. Interactive, entertaining, and earth friendly: kudos Disney.
The powerhouse Fox has taken an important message, wrapped it in a pretty cast and created a series of YouTube videos. In these, they talk about the importance of celebrating Earth Day and how to continue that celebration throughout your daily routine. Head over to Fox’s YouTube channel and your favorite cast members from Bones, Glee, Fringe, Family Guy, Raising Hope, and others are all hopping on the Earth Day train.
